MONDAY, JULY 4
- Vehicle fire in Burnley
Three fire engines from Bacup, Rawtenstall and Burnley attended an incident in Bacup Road at around 12.20pm.
The incident involved a large quantity of waste in an articulated trailer.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used three hose reel jets to bring the flames under control.
Crews were in attendance for 30 minutes.
- Commercial building fire in Poulton-le-Fylde
Six fire engines from Blackpool, Bispham, Fleetwood, South Shore and St Annes were called to Beacon Road at around 1.30pm on Monday (July 4).
The command support unit and aerial ladder from Blackburn were also mobilised to help tackle the fire – located at a commercial premises in the industrial estate.
“The incident involved a diesel generator and a large quantity of waste,” a spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said.
“If anyone can see or smell smoke, please close your windows and doors and avoid the area.”
Firefighters used three hose reel jets, the drone unit and the aerial ladder platform to bring the blaze under control.
In an update posted at 5.05pm, the fire service confirmed the incident was under control.
Fire crews would remain at the scene for several hours to check for any hotspots and dampen down the area.
- Domestic building fire in Preston
Two fire engines from Preston attended a domestic building fire in Black Bull Lane at around 1.45pm.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used one dry powder extinguisher and a ventilation unit to tackle the flames.
Crews were in attendance for two hours and 25 minutes.
- Domestic building fire in Blackpool
Three fire engines from Wesham, St Annes and Fulwood attended an incident in Lytham Road at around 4.45pm.
The incident involved a fire in the kitchen of a domestic property.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used one hose reel and a ventilation unit to extinguish the flames.
Crews were in attendance for one hour.
TUESDAY, JULY 5
- Skip fire in Blackburn
Two fire engines from Blackburn and Darwen attended an incident in Pump Street at around 12.40pm.
The incident involved a skip fire which was located at an industrial premise.
Firefighters used two hose reels to extinguish the flames.
Crews were in attendance for approximately 30 minutes.
- Outbuilding fire in Fleetwood
Two fire engines from Fleetwood attended an outbuilding fire in Carr Road at around 5.40am.
Firefighters used one hose reel to extinguish the flames.
Crews were in attendance for 40 minutes.
- Car towing inflatable speed boat on trailer lands on its side after two-vehicle crash in Fleetwood
One fire engine from Fleetwood attended a road traffic collision in Fleetwood Road at around midday on Tuesday (July 5).
A picture from the scene showed the crash involved two cars, one of which was towing an inflatable speed boat on a trailer.
Police blocked off the road as the car and trailer were recovered and emergency crews assessed the damage.
Two casualties also received precautionary checks at the scene before being placed in the care of paramedics.
A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service said: “Two patients were assessed for minor injuries.
“One was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital.”
Fire crews worked to make the area safe and were in attendance for approximately 30 minutes.
The collision occurred near the junction with Larkholme Lane, resulting in heavy traffic in the area as motorists attempted to find alternative routes.
