Teenager attacked girls after trying ‘Bubble’ drug for first time

A TEENAGER who assaulted his partner and another girl after trying “bubble” for the first time was horrified by what he had done, a court heard.

Kristian Jeffrey, who had been dumped by Stephanie Dinsdale the night before, had turned up at her home and challenged her about a male being there. He was told to leave, grabbed Ms Dinsdale’s head on both sides and screamed in her face. A younger girl tried to intervene but the defendant pushed her over. He was dragged from the house by his mother, but returned later, banged on the door and kicked through the bottom of it, Pennine magistrates were told.

Jeffrey (19), of Oxford Road, Nelson, but who plans to make a new life with Ms Dinsdale near Shrewsbury, admitted two counts of assault by beating and one of damage. He was given a 12-month supervision order, with 120 hours unpaid work. He must also pay £40 compensation and £85 costs.

Miss Sue Robinson (for Jeffrey) said he felt totally out of it after taking bubble and would say the drug made him act in the way it did.

When he was arrested, the police were so concerned about him they took him to hospital. Jeffrey had witnessed domestic violence as a child and was disgusted by what he had done. He had had no job, ended up with the wrong crowd, felt depressed and had alcohol problems.

Miss Robinson said Jeffrey would say he had not had a drink since and wasn’t taking drugs. The solicitor added: “He is absolutely horrified by what he has done.”
