Suspected ‘loan shark’ arrested

The England Illegal Money Lending Team, working with Lancashire County Council, executed a warrant at a residential address in the Accrington area, seizing documentary evidence.

The suspect is currently in custody assisting officers with their inquiries

Nationally the Illegal Money Lending Teams has secured 290 prosecutions for illegal money lending and related activity, leading to more than 172 years’ worth of custodial sentences. They have written off £40.3m.-worth of illegal debt and helped over 22,000 victims.
