Leo Cassidy, Paul Pickard, Tegan Green, Ashleigh Capstick, Kendal Hankinson and Daniel Thomson, who are year seven students at Padiham's Shuttleworth College, were presented with their Summer Literacy passports for completing the tasks set for them.

The work was given to the students during a transition evening at the college and was aimed at maintaining and developing their reading skills so they are well equipped for the next big step to secondary school.

Associate assistant deadteacher Rebecca Roach said: “As well as their passports, all students received prizes for completing their work and for the most conscientiously filled in booklets.”
