Summer fair fun at Burnley primary school raises Â£1,000

The "Throw the Sponge at a Teacher" game proved to be very popular at a Burnley primary school's summer fair.

Teacher Jamie Robinson was happy to volunteer for the stocks much to the delight of Emily Farrow and Charlie Hacking

The event was held at St Augustine's RC Primary School and raised more than £1,100 for school funds.

There was a variety of stalls and year sixes promoted their Fiver Challenge businesses - where they try to turn £5 into as much as they can by making smoothies, a lucky dip, selling chocolate and many more inspiring ideas.

Headteacher Sinead Colbeck said: "It was a great hour.

"The sun was out, there was plenty of fun and there was also a raffle with staff and parents volunteering."
