Music produced by a studio star from Pendle is reaching the ears of sports fan all over Europe.

Andrea Quarin, manager at Studio 11 at The ACE Centre, Nelson, has produced music that is currently being aired on Eurosport as part of footage from the World Arm Wrestling Championships at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The 28-year-old Italian, who moved to England seven years ago and lives in Brierfield, was originally doing voice-overs for the programme with Raise The Roof Productions before being asked to make and submit three pieces of music.

Andrea said: “The first piece is orchestral, gladiatorial music, the second is heavy metal and the third is hard rock which is from my back catalogue. They said ‘that’s great, we are going to use it’!

“My music is also going to be used on a championship filmed in Germany and one from the Trafford Centre in Manchester two weeks ago.”

Eurosport reaches 123 million homes and is broadcast in 59 different countries and in 20 languages so there is no shortage of audience for his material.

However, Andrea, who studied Audio Engineering at the University of Bolton and the School of Sound Recording in Manchester, is keeping his feet on the ground in a competitive industry but hopes that this can be his big break.

“It is very fast paced but I want to get into that industry. If you want to make music seriously then really you have to move to the US or the UK as they have a great history of making music. My plan is to get a career then I hope to move back to Italy after I have made a name for myself.”
