Students from Burnley’s UCFB have brought together some top names for an event to explore mental health in sport
The Sporting Mind: Mental health in Sport, will be staged at Turf Moor next Friday (April 22nd), from 4pm to 5-30pm. It will feature former Claret and positive mental health campaigner Clarke Carlisle, Clarets fan and former Government spin doctor Alastair Campbell, Manchester City legend Paul Lake, former Manchester United pro Alan Tonge and Burnley FC psychologist Jen Lace.
The event has been organised by seven UCFB Burnley Sports Business and Coaching students currently undertaking the Event Planning module of their degree.
Tickets are available here and cost £8 for adults and £5 for students.
A spokesman for the organisers said: “It is our aim to inform, influence and attempt to educate guests around the subject of mental health, and the stigma it possesses, particularly in the world of sport. Our main objective is to provide all those who attend with a learning experience, while raising money for mental health charity MIND.”
