A free soup kitchen for the homeless is being held in a Burnley cafe tonight (Wednesday).

Mr Anthony Jackson decided to organise the soup kitchen at his cafe Good Fillas in Plumbe Street.

Organisations Accent, Open Doors and the Salvation Army will also be attending from 7pm to offer advice.

Mr Jackson said: “We will be serving free soup, bread, biscuits, tea and coffee to any homeless people who can just call in.

“We know a lot have been contacted by some local group. There will also be a local barber doing free haircuts and we have collected donations of clothes and blankets.”

Mr Jackson is also holding a Christmas meal for homeless people at the cafe on December 17th.
