Mr Little and some of the students at Christ the King Primary School celebrate receiving their Sainsbury's School Games gold award

Christ the King RC Primary has been presented with the Sainsbury’s School Games gold award after PE teacher Mr Jordan Little encouraged pupils to take part in a wide range of sports.

From football and bowling to orienteering and athletics the children excelled in a range of new sports they have not had the opportunity to try before.

The aim of the scheme is to get children fit and active and taking part in a range of competitive sports. To achieve the prestigious gold award Mr Little had to engage at least 50% of students in after school sports and provide all children with at least two hours of activities a week.

A medal and certificate arrived at the school just before the end of term.
