Should the Euro be scrapped and countries go back to their own currencies?

Barely a day goes by without news of a crisis in the Euro zone hitting the headlines. There are emergency talks among European leaders and public unrest spreading.

Does this herald the end of the common Euro currency? Or is this simply a result of a global recession?
