Should shops be banned from selling Christmas goods until after Halloween?

The schools have not returned for the autumn term yet; many people’s summer holiday tans haven’t faded and the sun has been shining .... but already many shops are starting to sell their Christmas goodies.

Cards, decorations and wrapping paper have appeared onh the shelves - but is it too soon to start the Christmas period? Or does it not start early enough for you?
