BIG BEARD: Sean McParland

Sean McParland raised £1,175 in aid of Pendleside Hospice by not shaving his beard from February 2015 until February this year.

Sean, who works for Futaba-Tenneco, said: “It felt great when I finally got to shave my beard.

“It was irritating at times. Thanks to all my friends and colleagues who donated to this great cause and to everyone at my local, the Baltic Fleet, for all their help.”

If you would like to organise your own fund-raising activity for the hospice, call 01282 440120, email [email protected] or download the form.

The Hospice currently costs £3.8m. per year to run. A grant from the NHS Clinical Commissioning Group provides approximately 26% of running costs.
