School thanks Crow Wood for gym equipment boost

Crow Wood Leisure is donating gym equipment worth £7,500 to Blessed Trinity school, following a social media campaign.

In March, health club members at Crow Wood won the UK portion of the global Technogym challenge – so the business asked local people to nominate a local school to receive the prize of its metabolic exercise equipment, a session of professional training for PE teachers and a seminar on the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

Neil Stubbs, head of PE at Blessed Trinity, said: “We’re delighted to have been nominated to receive the equipment. I’d like to thank all the Crow Wood members for their amazing efforts, as well as everyone who nominated us.

“It’s well known that Blessed Trinity has a fine sporting pedigree and having this new equipment will assist us in encouraging as many young people as possible to enjoy the benefits of exercise. It will also help us to identify and nurture young talent too.”

Oliver Brown, director of Crow Wood Leisure, added that the “Let’s Move for a Better World” campaign had been a huge success.

He said: “Our members have now won the challenge for two years running, which has seen us contribute almost £20,000 worth of exercise equipment to Burnley schools.”
