SALTERFORTH: Police appeal after cyclist seriously hurt in suspected hit-and-run

DETECTIVES are appealing for information after a suspected fail-to-stop collision in Barnoldswick this morning.

At 10-30 a.m. police were called to reports of a man being found at the side of the road next to his pedal cycle in Kelbrook Road, Salterforth, half a mile before Barnoldswick town centre.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, has been airlifted to Royal Blackburn Hospital with serious injuries.

An investigation is ongoing into the circumstances and police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

In particular, police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area around 10-30 a.m. or who may have seen anything suspicious in the surrounding areas, such as any damaged or abandoned vehicles.
