Ribble Valley MP gets a spray tan

THE Speaker’s chair was swapped for a tanning booth as Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans enjoyed a glowing spray tan in aid of charity.

Conservative MP Mr Evans, who is also Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, took time out of his busy schedule to undergo a spray tan at Oakhill Academy (a beauty and leisure club), in Whalley.

The event was organised by local company Tanprofessionals in a bid to encourage people to attend a 12-hour Tanathon on Wednesday (May 4th) to boost funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Spokesperson Leanne Phillipson said: “This is a great event for the Ribble Valley and we invite local teenagers, parents and grandparents to come alone and support us.

“Marie Curie carry out amazing work caring for patients and we thought the Oakhill Tanathon will not only help their cause, but also promote the safe aspects of spray tanning as opposed to the risk of skin cancer associated with sunbeds and UV rays.

“For £9.95 each person will be tanned privately, in approximately 10 minutes, in one of the beauty treatment rooms at the club. We use a leading organic tanning solution called A-Tan.”

All proceeds from the 12-hour Tanathon, which starts at 9 a.m. at Oakhill Academy, go towards Marie Curie Cancer Care.
