It was mud, sweat and beers for a tenacious team from Remedy Gin Bar after they completed the 10-mile Tough Mudder obstacle course in aid of Pendleside Hospice.
Madge Nawaz and Gazanfar Ali, owners of the Ormerod Street bar, recruited eight of their colleagues and friends to take part in the challenge with them. The team raised £1,834 which was made up to £2,000 by the bar.
Gazanfar said: “We were all covered head to toe in bruises and mud which then dried making it extremely hard to get off in the shower, but it was worth it. We are already talking about doing another Tough Mudder next year.”
Madge added: “We had such a great day. I think I took a wrong turn somewhere along the way as I seemed to run further than everyone else.”
Patrick Thornton, one of the Team Remedy Tough Mudder members, said: “I took part and raised money in memory of my dad Jason Thornton who received care from the hospice. They were amazing and I wanted to give something back.
“My colleagues at Futaba Tenneco were very supportive as was everyone at Remedy”.
