Children from Burnley have clocked up 2,338 miles to raise money for Mary’s Meals, a charity that helps feed starving youngsters worldwide.
Pupils from St Mary Magdalene’s, St Augustine’s and St Joseph’s RC primary schools have been running a series of laps equivalent to the distance from Burnley to Calvary where Jesus was crucified.
And a final dash round Towneley Park saw them complete the project on Tuesday.
The students who took part are year threes who are working on the sacramental programme.
They asked friends and family to sponsor them and they also took collection mugs home to fill with spare coins for Mary's Meals.
Mr Richard Johnson, sports co-ordinator at St Mary Magdalene's, said: "Children from all three schools have worked really well for a fantastic cause and I would like to thank everyone who has supported us throughout the project."
