Police confirmed a 15-year-old and a 14-year-old were caught passing a £20 snap bag of cannabis last Thursday in the corridor at an unnamed Pendle secondary school.

Officers are still investigating the matter and have spoken to the parents of the respective children.

Sgt Shaun Pearson said: “A snap bag containing all the components required for making a cannabis joint was being passed between two pupils.

“I would urge parents to speak with their children to warn them about taking drugs and urge them to report it if they are offered drugs in school.

“It is not just health implications. They might want to look at the penalties for being found in possession of a Class B drug and possession with intent to supply.”

Anybody with any information regarding people targeting children with drugs should call police on 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
