The former Forest Inn, in Cuckstool Lane, has been put on the market for £450,000 after the Babar Elephant Indian restaurant closed last month.

The ex-pub, which was Barocco’s Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar prior to being transformed into Babar Elephant, is up for sale with Skipton chartered surveyors Westlake and Co.

A spokesman for Babar Elephant cited rent and a drainage issues for closing its Fence venture.

The company opened the Four Elephants restaurant in Skipton Road, Foulridge, in October last year, taking over the site of the former Massala Rooms on the outskirts of the village.

It also trades elsewhere in Lancashire and Manchester.
