Prime Minister hails Barnoldswick bed firm as a ‘great business’

Prime Minister David Cameron visited Silentnight in Barnoldswick on Friday afternoon to take a tour of the factory and to host a question and answer session with shop floor workers.

Mr Cameron flew down from Scotland for the visit and declared that “it’s great to be here at Silentnight, it’s great to be here in Barnoldswick”.

The Prime Minister praised the company, describing it as a “great business” and singled out the bed specialist’s commitment to providing apprenticeships.

Topics addressed by Mr Cameron in the question and answer session included UKIP, Europe, the Ukraine situation, foreign aid, taxation and NHS prescription charges and he was even asked whether he was the owner of a Silentnight mattress.
