Father-of-two Shahbaz Saleem (27) has raised £15,735 for Pendleside Hospice, which Shahbaz has called ‘out of this world’ and where the RAF airman of ten years is currently receiving palliative care.

The Conservative MP for Pendle, Andrew Stephenson, brought up Shahbaz’s inspirational story at Westminster on December 12th, prompting the Secretary of State for Defence, the Rt Hon Sir Michael Fallon MP, to comment: “Senior Aircraftman Saleem is an airman of the highest calibre.

“His wife and young daughters should be in no doubt about the highest regard in which the RAF holds him.”

Mr Stephenson himself said on his Facebook page: “Shahbaz, a brave RAF serviceman who has dedicated the past 10 years of his life to the RAF, tragically is now in Pendleside hospice with terminal bowel cancer.

“Despite [the] devastating diagnosis, he has taken on another challenge.”
