Pool and gallery among facilities reopened by a Lancashire council as county moves into Tier 3

A Lancashire council has reopened some of its facilities after the county moved into Tier 3 coronavirus status.

Ribble Valley Borough Council has reopened the Platform Gallery, on Station Road, Clitheroe; Ribble Valley 3G pitches, on Edisford Road, Clitheroe and Ribblesdale Pool, Edisford Road, Clitheroe, following the lifting of the latest national lockdown.

However, due to the Tier 3 restrictions the Council Offices in Church Walk, Clitheroe, and Clitheroe Castle Museum will remain closed.

The Tier 3 restrictions mean socialising is banned indoors and in most outdoor places with people you don’t live with, or who are not in your bubble.

Most hospitality, accommodation and entertainment venues will remain closed, but shops, leisure centres and gyms, and personal care services such as hairdressers and barbers are allowed to open.

Places of worship can also open, but people cannot interact with anyone they don’t live with.

There are no plans to reintroduce shielding in Ribble Valley, but the clinically vulnerable and those over the age of 60 should minimise contact with others. Those who are clinically extremely vulnerable should not only minimise contact with others, but if they are unable to work from home should not go to work.
