Burnley MP calls on Prime Minister to support college expansion plans

During Prime Minister's Questions yesterday, Antony Higginbotham mentioned the efforts of the college in driving forward the opportunities available to young people in the borough.
In May, the sixth form centre was ranked as the best in the country by the government with a 99.8% A Level pass rate and a 100% Advanced Vocational pass rate for the sixteenth consecutive year. Ofsted also ranked the centre as 'outstanding'.

Hide AdBurnley College has experienced year on year growth in admissions and is looking to expand, with plans to further increase the number of students it is able to accommodate.


The Prime Minister said: "I welcome all the plans Burnley College has for capital investment to develop their campus."
Mr Higginbotham said: “It was brilliant to get the support of the Prime Minister for the proposed expansion of Burnley College and the high level of education that is being provided there”.
“It's essential that our local young people are equipped with the skills we need in the future - education for the 21st Century and not the 20th Century.”
“By continuing to invest in facilities, delivering a college that teaches skills from engineering and robotics to clean engines and drone technology, we can do exactly that”.
