Police thank public for help after woman found injured close to railway lines in Clitheroe

A police officer has thanked the public and fellow emergency service workers for their help after a woman was found injured close to railway lines in Clitheroe.

The woman was found at 10-10am yesterday on the line close to Henthorn Park.

Members of the public alerted emergency services to the casualty and Clitheroe Police were at the scene with paramedics, British Transport Police and the air ambulance.

Sergeant Kev Day said: "I would like to say a huge thank you to members of the public who informed us of the lady's whereabouts and were extremely helpful when we arrived."

The victim received treatment at the scene before she was taken to hospital.

Sgt Day added: "We wish her a full and speedy recovery."
