Police seize stun gun and £32,000-worth of heroin in Burnley raids

HEROIN with an estimated street value of over £32,000 and a stun gun have been seized after police carried out a series of coordinated raids in Burnley.

Around 25 officers from across Pennine Division raided addresses in Claughton Street, Cleaver Street and Colbran Street yesterday morning.

The operation began around 8 a.m. when officers swooped on the target addresses as part of a major crackdown on the supply of class A drugs in Burnley.

Baseball bats and several thousand pounds were also recovered during the operation.

Three men aged 23, 27 and 30 and a 28-year-old woman, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs. All continue to be questioned by police.

DS Martin Kennedy said: “This was a significant seizure of what is believed to be class A drugs and should demonstrate our commitment to tackling drug-related crime in Burnley.

”Our communities have told us they do not want people who deal drugs to live among them and I hope people are reassured we listen to their concerns and take action.”
