Police search for man after Brierfield attempted robbery

The offence occurred at around 12-30pm yesterday when the offender entered the shop and looked around as if to purchase an item.

The man then walked up to the till, and threatened the shop assistant with a knife.

However, the alarm was activated by the shopkeeper and the man ran off from the store empty handed in the direction of Albion Street.
