Police release evofit of ‘attacker’ - witness appeal

Police are renewing their appeal for information and have released an evofit of a man they want to speak to following an assault in Burnley.

The incident happened on Wednesday, June 1st, around 10 p.m. when the victim, an 18-year-old man, was walking alone along Talbot Street in Briercliffe when he was approached by four or five men.

He was punched and kicked to the floor leaving him with serious injuries before the group responsible made off.

The victim has been able to work with specially trained officers to create an evofit of one of the possible offenders.

Det. Sgt Nick Hodgeson from Burnley CID said: “I would ask members of the public to look at this image and see if they recognise the man. This is a nasty and unprovoked assault that has left a teenager needing hospital treatment.

“Also, if anyone witnessed the actual incident or has information that will assist the investigation then we would ask them to make contact with the police.”
