Police release CCTV image after Burnley street attack

DETECTIVES have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an assault in Burnley.

Around 7-45 p.m. on Sunday, June 26th, a man was attacked by a group of around seven other men outside shops in Brunshaw Avenue.

The 30-year-old victim was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital with cuts to his arm and leg as well as a head injury. He discharged himself from hospital the following day.

Police are now keen to speak with a man captured on CCTV.

Det. Sgt Nick Hodgeson, from Burnley CID, said: “I would appeal to anyone who recognises the man captured on CCTV to come forward. We are continuing to follow a number of lines of inquiry, but I am keen to hear from anybody who feels they could assist with this investigation.

“The disturbance took place in the street and in broad daylight so it was very visible. I would urge anybody who saw anything to come forward.”
