Police promise ‘no hiding place’ for Burnley and Pendle criminals

WANTED criminals who have evaded capture from the police will have no place to hide as officers launch major crackdown in East Lancashire.

This month, uniformed and plain clothed officers including response, Neighbourhood, Targeted Crime and CID will all be on the hunt for people suspected to have been involved in burglary, theft and violent crimes.

The operation will see officers carry out a range of tactics to target and arrest offenders across Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale. Teams of officers will be holding street briefings across the Division to reassure the public and warn criminals.

Insp. Tom Riley, who is leading the operation, said: “This operation is about preventing further crimes from happening and relentlessly pursuing those who think they can blight our communities and evade justice.

“We want to reassure residents we are committed to reducing crime and the fear of crime. Throughout this operation, officers will be dedicated to arresting those people believed to have been involved in offences which cause the most public concern such as burglary, theft and violence.

“The message is clear, if you are committing crime, we are coming to arrest you and you will be held to account for your actions.”
