Police probe after man found with serious injuries

Police are appealing for information after a man was found with serious injuries in Padiham.

Police were called by the ambulance service to a back alleyway between Bright Street and Pendle Street at about 11-15pm on Sunday after a 51 year-old local man was found with head injuries.

He was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital and found to have a fractured skull and bleed to the brain. He has now been transferred to Royal Preston Hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable.

It is believed the man may have been involved in an altercation and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Det. Insp Julie Cross, of Burnley CID, said: “This man has clearly suffered some serious injuries.

“From the enquiries we have made so far we believe that he may have been involved in some sort of altercation and we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed anything or who has any information to get in touch with us.”
