Police 'increasingly concerned' for the welfare of missing Burnley pensioner

Police are appealing for information to locate the whereabouts of a 71-year-old man who has been missing since the early hours of this morning.

James Hargreaves was last seen in the Heath Street area of Burnley, at around 01-30am today (Tuesday). Police said it is possible he is not wearing shoes/socks.

He is described as a white male, of medium build with long brown/ginger unkempt hair and ginger beard. He was last seen wearing a black coat, blue jeans and carrying a walking stick.

A spokesman for Burnley and Padiham Police said: "We are becoming increasingly concerned about the welfare of James Hargreaves. He is believed to have links to the Burnley Town Centre and Turf Moor areas. We are appealing for your help to find James.
