Police hunt teenagers after burglary bids - witness appeal

POLICE in Burnley are appealing for information after three teenagers were seen acting suspiciously in the Allendale and Sunderland Street areas of Burnley on Friday.

Around 11 p.m,, three male teenagers, described as white and wearing grey hooded tops, were seen trying door handles of homes before being challenged and chased off by a resident.

Police are urging anybody that may have seen the teenagers in the area at the time to come forward.

Detective Inspector Stuart Dixon said: “We are treating this incident as an attempted burglary and are keen to trace a young woman who we believe saw the young men. She is described as white, around 5ft. 5in. tall, in her late teens with a pale complexion, light blonde, shoulder-length hair, and was carrying a bag.
