Police hunt Good Samaritan after sex pest strikes in Burnley

POLICE are trying to find a Good Samaritan who read a number plate of a driver who indecently exposed himself to a woman.

He helped the 45-year-old Burnley woman in April, but police have still not had chance to talk to him and are keen to trace him.

The woman was walking in Bank Parade around 3-50 p.m. on Friday, April 15th, when the flasher parked his car next to her and began to touch himself inappropriately.

She asked a male passer-by to help her read the registration plate of the dark blue old-style VW Golf, which he did before leaving.

PC Lee Burdis said: “This man exposed himself in full view of the public and the woman was left very distressed by the incident. We very much need to speak with the man who stopped to speak with the woman; he could provide us with the information we need to be able to progress this investigation.

“I appreciate this happened some months ago, but if you recall being in the area at the time and it was you who spoke with this woman I would urge you to contact police as I am sure you will have information that can help us.

“If anybody else has any information at all which they feel could assist us then I would urge them to come forward.”
