Police appeal for man after two burglaries

Police are appealing for help in locating a man with connections to Burnley and Nelson who  is wanted in connection with burglary offences.

Steven John Rawcliffe (31) from Blackburn, is wanted following two burglaries and an attempted burglary which occurred within days of each other last month.

The first incident occurred sometime between 1.30pm on Sunday and Monday, February 12th and 13th when a hair and beauty salon on Church Street, Blackburn, was broken into and a small amount of money stolen.

A second incident occurred at around 8.10pm on Wednesday, February 15th, when rocks were thrown at the windows of a hairdressing business on Town Hall Street, Blackburn.

The third incident occurred at around 11pm on Monday, February 20th, when a church on Peel Street, Accrington, was broken into. Damage was also caused to the inside of the building and several items were stolen.

Rawcliffe is described as white, around 5ft 8ins tall with brown hair.

PC Paul Corris, Community Beat Manager for Blackburn Town Centre’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We would like to find Steven John Rawcliffe and would urge anybody who knows where he may be to contact us as soon as possible.

“Similarly we would urge Mr Rawcliffe himself, if he sees this appeal, to hand himself in.”
