Zoe Procter, of Sheridan Road, Laneshaw Bridge, is at the bedside of Thomas Procter-Whitham (3) at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool. And she says she is amazed by the show of strength displayed in Colne at the weekend.

A raffle organised by Matthew Eyre on Saturday raised a sensational £1,311.07 for the family at a rate of £300 an hour outside Colne Market while a secret flash mob drew a crowd of up to 300 people.

Thomas, who has an identical twin brother George (3) and older brother Braxton (5), has had his left leg amputated above the knee after the devastating meningococcal septicaemia took hold.

Zoe said: “The people of Colne have been amazing, the way they came together for Tommy at the weekend. That’s what is keeping me going.”
