Photos: Ex-Green Beret first to try ‘bluetooth’ knee
An ex-soldier from Foulridge made the headlines this week by being the first patient in the country to be fitted with a prosthetic knee operated by bluetooth.
Former Colne Park High School student and Green Beret Gregg Stevenson (29) lost both legs to an IED in Afghanistan in 2009.
But now Gregg’s new Genium X3 knee has given him a new lease of life and hopes to return to work as an engineer.
Mr Stevenson said: “I have a young son so now I’ll be able to run around and play with him like other parents can, without having to switch between different limbs.”
