PHOTOS: Crowds flock to food festival

THOUSANDS of people descended into Clitheroe on Saturday to savour the best of Ribble Valley’s fresh produce at The Clitheroe Food Festival 2011.

A pudding feast, barbecue trail, a real ale and wine-tasting area and cookery demonstrations by top chefs Nigel Haworth and Paul Heathcote were just some of the attractions enjoyed by crowds of people who had travelled from far and wide.

The visitors also enjoyed browsing around 70 local food and food-related craft stalls selling fresh bread, sizzling sausages, cakes, fish, vegetables, delicious ice cream and much more.

Organisers of the one-day event hailed it a massive success.
