PHOTO SPECIAL: Dream wedding for Burnley dad with terminal cancer

A BURNLEY dad suffering from a rare terminal cancer was all smiles as he married his fiancee in a ceremony at Towneley Hall.

Tom Cooper (24) wed Tammy Dale (23) in front of family and friends just four weeks after an appeal was launched to help them afford the £20,000 wedding of their dreams.

The the pair, of Greenbrook Road, were desperate to marry after Tom was diagnosed with the rare nasopharyngeal carcinoma last October.

Tammy arrived in a horse-drawn carriage and was given away by her father after walking down the aisle to “You’re Still The One” by Shania Twain.

Her six bridesmaids included the couple’s daughters Tienna (4) and 20-month-old Ziani.

During the ceremony, the poem “On Your Wedding Day” was read out and, as the couple signed the marriage register, the sounds of “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King filled the air.

Following the ceremony, the couple released two doves before having photos taken in the grounds of the hall.

They held their reception at the Oaks Hotel, Reedley.

Tammy said: “It hasn’t sunk in yet, it’s been everything we dreamed of and more.”

The couple had their venues, cake, dress, cars, including a Bentley and a Rolls-Royce, beauty treatments and entertainment donated.

The wedding was co-ordinated by Mr Wesley Hall, who saw the couple’s plight on Facebook.
