'We're all in this together' is Burnley care home's motto as residents and staff say thank you to community for lockdown treats

Residents and staff at a Burnley care home have been overwhelmed by the donation of treats from the community to help them through the pandemic.

Relatives of residents and also businesses and organisations have helped to make the difficult time more enjoyable at The Grove care home with donations of food and gifts.

Pizzas were delivered by Lancashire Care Service and Crow Wood also dropped off home made soup and bread one day. And supermarket giant Morrison's also made a donation of toiletries for the residents.

Activity coordinator Laura Foulds said: " We are just overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity which just shows we really are all in this together."

Staff have kept everyone's spirits up with a series of celebrations including a VE Day party, a garden party and barbecue with musical entertainment and a 'chippy tea' went down a treat with everyone.
