On Saturday (October 8th) Fulledge Colts have organised an event at Kokos in Burnley from 1pm to 5pm and on Friday, October 21st Olivia's aunt, Michelle Cawtherley, is holding a fancy dress fun night at Burnley Miners Club.

The events are being held to help support Olivia's parents, Graham Lalor and Melissa Balderson, whose lives were turned upside down when their daughter was diagnosed with the cancerous tumour in July.

Surgeons successfully removed 90% of the tumour and this week Olivia celebrated her first birthday, three days after starting chemotherapy treatment.

She was allowed out of the hospital for the first time for a little birthday party in the Ronald McDonald House where her mum and dad have been staying.

A fund raising campaign called Olivia’s Battle Fund has been launched by Melissa’s cousin, Leanne Cottam, to help the couple, who have a seven-year-old son called Reece, and so far the total stands at £1,800.

The family, who live in the Briercliffe area of Burnley, were thrilled when a £1,000 donation was made from the BK’s Heroes charity that was set up by the parents of Ben King who died of a brain tumour at the age of 27.

Saturday's fund raising event runs from 1pm to 5pm and attractions include face painting, cake and sweet stall, games and entertainment for the children and a raffle with some great prizes including a signed football shirt, vouchers for Giddykippers in Nelson, cinema vouchers, an Indian meal for two and entry for four people to the Drop Zone trampoline park. Proceeds will be split between Olivia's Battle Fund and Pendleside Hospice.

The event on Sunday, October 21st, starts at 8pm and several men have volunteered for chest and leg waxing to help boost the funds.

Michelle said: "We hope to make as much money as possible for Olivia'sd mum and dad for the difficult road ahead."
