Organised by Rosemere Cancer Foundation and the Ribble Valley Ride, the month-long event is open to all ages and abilities. You just sign up, raise sponsorship if you can, and submit the mileage you’ve cycled throughout the month.

One of the organisers, charity stalwart and keen cyclist, Bill Honeywell, said: "As you know, the Ribble Valley Ride is just one of many fundraising events to have been cancelled in 2020. "We wanted to find a way of raising money whilst keeping completely within Government guidelines – and this is it.

"For the whole month of September we’re asking you, whatever your age or ability, to get on your bikes and cycle – to help the Rosemere get to a collective distance of at least 25,000 miles – the circumference of the Earth. And at the same time to fundraise as much as you can."
