"We Three Friends of Gisburn" - Louise Harrison, Tracy Doyle and Joanne Smith - spent days preparing the parcels, which include festive food and fun puzzles.

Louise explained: "It all started over two years ago when we hosted our first afternoon tea in the village hall for the older residents of Gisburn, as a social afternoon with food, games and a quiz.

"We are now into our eighth event, which is Christmas buffet in a bag and has been hand delivered to 100 local, senior citizens. We have raised money with support from local residents, the White Bull of Gisburn, Walkers fruit and veg, friends and family to be able to provide this initiative to residents, the majority of these older local people have been isolated during Covid-19."

She went onto say: "At these difficult times our Christmas Buffet in a bag will be something exciting to look forward to. We are already planning our next 'Beat the Winter Blues' bag to be delivered at the end of January!"
