Thrilling time for author as debut novel launches
A Burnley author is launching his first novel this week.
Tom McEvoy, whose pen name is Finn Ambers, unveiled his novel, From the Path, a thriller which tells the story of the protagonist "Fluke" Ellington as he struggles to cope with opening a portal to a desolate world and completing a dangerous mission before time runs out.
"This launch is a big event for me - it all started ten years ago. An idea occurred to me and I decided to write it down. Things just grew organically from there, " said Tom.
"As I wrote, it became clear that the characters who I created had a great deal more to tell, so I decided that this would be the first volume in what I am calling The Orb-stars series."
Tom is a former pupil of Lowerhouse Junior and Habergham High schools and he worked as the marketing officer at Burnley Mechanics for several years and wrote the "Mechanics Matters" column which appeared in the Burnley Express every Friday.
He currently works as an I.T. project manager, writes in his spare time and lives with his partner and two daughters in rural Lancashire.
