Surprise visits from Santa and their favourite children's entertainer puts pupils and staff at Burnley school in the festive spirit

A surprise visit from Father Christmas and one of their favourite children's entertainers rounded off the end of the school year on a high note for pupils at Burnley's Holy Trinity Primary School.

The man in red sat in the hall with each 'bubble' and chatted with the children before headteacher Mrs Sally Smith presented each child with a gift and an 'I've met Santa sticker.'

And the school also hosted its annual visit from the children's favourite entertainer, Taz, who had to entertain each 'bubble' separately. But the laughter, shouting and noise from the excited children was as loud as if they were all together.

The visits certainly ensure everyone went home full of festive spirit.
