Savvy savers help raise £12,000 for Pendleside Hospice

After another year of smart saving, Marsden Building Society have presented Pendleside Hospice with their annual affinity cheque.

Raised through the affinity saving accounts held by Marsden members, the donation - presented on Wednesday, October 4th - came to a total of £12,669.03, with the more that members save meaning the more Marsden donates.

For every £1 saved in a Marsden affinity account, the building society will pay a donation to the affinity charity of your choice, with over £102,000 donated to Pendleside Hospice since 2010 with the support of their member.

Philippa Farebrother-Dunn, Head of Retail, said, “It’s great to be a part of a business that gives back to the local community and that is recognised by both our staff and our members.

"Pendleside touches so many people locally and as a result, the community gets behind them, which is shown in the amount that is raised through our Affinity accounts," she added. "It’s a great way to show our support for a fantastic charity.”

Christina Cope, Fundraising Manager at Pendleside Hospice, said: “We’re very grateful to have support from Marsden Building Society and this annual donation from their Affinity Accounts – it’s an important amount that has been raised and we’re delighted that the money raised will help to continue delivering our service to people with life limiting illnesses and their families.”
