Clitheroe Rotarians' bucket collection raised £275

However, in an effort to raise spirits and funds for local charities, Rotarians and friends attended Clitheroe's bustling market with collecting buckets at a safe distanced on poles.

A magnificent £275 has been raised to date with more to come from buckets placed by many market traders on their stalls.

A Rotary spokesman said: "Thank you to all the members of the public and traders who supported Rotary while listening to festive music provided by a Dutch organ. One person enjoying the music, while popping a donation into a Rotary bucket, was two-year-old Esmai Rose, from Clitheroe. Santa was out and about thanks to Ribblesdale Rotary Club at Castlegate and Dawsons Store."
