The band, the Crying Beauty Queens, met five years ago at a rock summer school in Manchester and share the same desire for making music and performing; the trio have become inseparable and are all great friends.

Paddy is the drummer in the band and has worked incredibly hard to balance his Stonyhurst studies alongside band practice and live gigs across the North West.

Originally practicing in Stonyhurst’s state-of-the-art music facility, the band has moved on to record in a licensed music studio where each one of them write and compose all of their own materials. Since launching their first single "Taking Over" in 2018, their passion for music and performance hasn’t gone unnoticed as they have now been signed to a national development label, MAS Records. The band has since gone on to record four singles and have played both virtual live streamed gigs and at socially distanced gigs in Manchester and Liverpool, during the Tier 2 period.

Paddy plans to study music at University once he leaves Stonyhurst next summer.

Once the restrictions are lifted, the Crying Beauty Queens plan to embark on their very first UK tour.

Stonyhurst is proud to provide an abundance of opportunities for all pupils to thrive within their chosen pathways and be the best they can be.
