After a very interesting visit from Jane Chitnis, Ribble Valley foodbank manager, the Brownies wanted to show their support. The girls aged 7-10 voted on how they wanted to raise funds in order to buy food for the vital organisation. They decided to hold a danceathon and sought sponsorship. The girls spent one of their normal meetings dancing. In total £130 was donated.

The Brownies then visited Tesco supermarket in Clitheroe to shop and took great care to make choices about how to spend their money wisely, ensuring they bought the items that the Foodbank were in greatest need of.

in the supermarket to make wise choices. Part of our Girlguiding Promise is about serving the community, the Brownies definitely served their community with this project.”
