Traditionally the pupils enjoy a walk to All Saints Church where they perform songs, poetry and plays for their parents and the local community.

But unfortunately the coronavirus pandemic and the restrictions have meant that the Harvest Festival could not take place in church.

Nevertheless the children decided that this year they could support the community by raising money for the local food bank.

So last Friday they paid £1 to wear their own clothes and enjoy harvest activities which included producing pumpkin lanterns, leaf hedgehogs and illustrating harvest prayers.

The school raised £171 and this was donated to West Craven Food Bank.

Head teacher, Dawn Liversidge, said: "It is very sad that we weren’t able to perform our traditional Harvest Festival.

"However, the children again produced some lovely harvest-inspired art and written work and raised money for a worthy cause.

"Hopefully next year we will be back at the church."
