Pendle firefighters rescue teenage girl who slipped and fell down a ravine

A young girl had a lucky escape after she slipped and fell down a ravine on Walton Lane, Nelson.

Fire crews and the urban search and rescue team were called out to rescue the teenager. The incident happened just before 4-30pm yesterday (Monday) and thankfully, the girl did not suffer any injuries.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: "Two fire engines from Nelson, an aerial ladder platform and the urban search and rescue team were called to help one person who was stuck down a ravine on Walton Lane, Nelson.

"Firefighters rescued the person and were at the scene for 45 minutes. Paramedics also arrived on scene, but their services were not required as the girl did not suffer any injuries."
